Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has suffered a minor thigh strain at his club Al Ain.
The 29-year-old pulled out of the club’s 1-1 draw at Al Dhafra on Friday after feeling pains in his thigh during the warm up.
Gyan was thus not risked for the game.
The former Sunderland man is thought to need an overdue rest following his involvement at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations where he played the entire tournament for Ghana not fully fit.
He however did some light training at his UAE base on Saturday evening to allay fears of his latest injury setback.
