Ghana star Kwadwo Asamoah excluded from Juventus' Champions League final squad
Ghana's fit-again midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been excluded from Juventus' squad for Saturday's final of the UEFA Champions League against Spanish giants Barcelona.
The Ghana international has regained his fitness after being out of action for six months following a knee injury he suffered in a Champions League match in November.
His return to fitness sparked the hopes that he will be included in their match against Barcelona on Saturday for Europe's best club prize.
However he was excluded from the squad as his name from Juventus' squad was removed from their Champions League list after he suffered the injury.
Juventus and Barcelona will go for the Treble as they clash at the Olympic Stadium of Berlin, and coach Massimiliano Allegri has already released his team's squad list for the biggest match of the season.
And, as the world knows, a huge blow to the lineup: Giorgio Chiellini, the leader of The Old Lady's defense, will miss the Final due to a calf injury that will force him out of the biggest game of his career. It's a huge headache for the Italian side boss. Along with Chiellini, Martín Cáceres, and Rômulo are also out of the squad due to injuries.
After all, Allegri named 22 players to form the list, and he'll cut four before the game to form a definitive 18-man squad to be in uniform for Saturday's clash. The full list:
Juventus squad:
Goalkeepers: Buffon, Storari, Rubinho
Defenders: Ogbonna, Bonucci, De Ceglie, Barzagli, Lichtsteiner, Evra
Midfielders: Marchisio, Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Padoin, Coman, Pepe, Pereyra, Sturaro
