Midfielder Rabiu Mohammed is anxious for a Ghana win in their opening game at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations against Senegal on Monday.

The Black Stars open their campaign against the highly talented and physical Senegalese for the first time under new coach Avram Grant.

Expectations on the Ghana team at this year’s finals are relatively low especially following the team’s struggles throughout the qualifiers.

There are however subtle feelings the team will excel beyond the lowered expectations.

Influential midfielder Rabiu Mohammed wants the team to go for the kill against Senegal in their Group C opener to make Ghanaians proud.

“Finally, match day!” the Russian-based midfielder Tweeted hours before the game in Mongomo.

“Thank you all for the support and good luck messages.

“We hope to make you proud.”
