South African giants Orlando Pirates are close to agreeing a deal to sign on Ghana goalkeeper Ernest Sowah who spent last seasons in Congo.

Sowah is currently in camp with the Black Stars preparing for the 2017 Africa cup of nations qualifiers against Mauritius on the 14th of June.

The 27 year old shot stopper enjoyed a stellar season with Don Bosco in Congo earning him a place in Grant’s team for the 2015 Africa cup of nations held in Equatorial Guinea earlier this year where Ghana finished second only to the Ivory Coast.

The Buccs have struggled to fill the boots of Senzo Meyiwa with current number one Bighton Mhlongo struggling to meet the heightened expectations.

“We have been approached by pirates on Sowah on a number of occasions,” a source close the player told GHANAsoccernet.com

“We have made some progress but at this stage nothing has been agreed on yet.”

“We are looking at the prospects of getting a deal that will benefits both parties.”

I hope this guy think twice about this move. No successful ghanaian goalie in south africa, the last two came back home. If congo is treating you good, why not stay there.
