Ghana forward Andre Ayew was amongst ten African players to have scored on the opening day of the English Premier League.

The 25-year-old made a dream EPL debut by scoring for Swansea in their thrilling 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

Ayew’s beautiful goal while maintaining his composure even on ground to beat the flapping John Terry and Thibaut Courtois has received raved reviews.

It has now emerged that the Ghana international is amongst a distinguished crop of African players to have made a significant contribution on EPL opening day.

African players accounted for 10 out of the 30 goals scored in Day One of the Premiership.

Amongst the African goalscorers include; Mahrez 2, Yaya, Ighalo, Cisse, Ayew, Kone, Gestede, Kouyate.

Andre Ayew is billed to be a massive hit in just his first season with Swansea.

He joined the Welsh club as a free agent this summer after running down his contract at French giants Olympique Marseille.
