Defender Harrison Afful has suspended talks over his club future in order to fully concentrate on Ghana’s campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The skillful full-back is widely expected to leave Esperance this summer following his exclusion from the side’s CAF Champions League squad as many other foreign players.

Afful has been with Esperance since 2009 – during which period he has won four domestic league titles and a Champions League crown.

There is however a growing feeling that the Ghana international has paid his dues to the Red and Gold and that it is about time he moves on elsewhere.

But the former Asante Kotoko loanee doesn’t want to be distracted by issues relating to his club future as he prepares to help Ghana at the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guidonia.

“Right now my concentration is with the national team,” he told MTNFootball.com in an exclusive interview.

“We are preparing for the African Cup and therefore that is where the focus is for now.

“My club future can be sorted after the tournament.”

Several European clubs are reported to have expressed interest in the full-back.

Afful has worked within the ranks to become a regular in the Black Stars team.

He provided most of the assists from a defensive role during Ghana’s successful qualifying campaign to the Nations Cup where he is really expected to light up the competition.
