Gascoigne says Tottenham must ‘get a grip’ after winless Premier League start

Former Tottenham midfielder Paul Gascoigne says he realised last season that the London club would face difficulties in the current campaign.

Tottenham have failed to win any of their first five Premier League matches and sit bottom of the table with two points.

“They have everything at the moment, but they need to get a grip,” Gascoigne said of the club’s players.

Tottenham have finished 17th in the table in each of the past two seasons. Despite those struggles, the club spent more than £300m during the summer transfer window in an attempt to rebuild the squad.

Gascoigne said he had already seen signs last season that Tottenham’s problems would continue into the current championship.
