Nigeria U-17 Women played a draw in their pre-World Cup friendly against Mexico in Santiago, Dominican Republic on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Flamingos played a 1-1 draw against Mexico as they prepare for their first game in the 2024 U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic which begins in October.

Faridat Abdulkareem opened the score for the Flamingos in the 33rd minute before the Mexican equaliser came in the 42nd minute.

The Nigeria team will continue preparations to better the country's best outing of finishing third in the 2022 World Cup in India.

Nigeria is in group A with the host Nation Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand for the eighth FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup which gets underway on 16 October.
