French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco are leading the pack to secure the signature of industrious Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.

Wakaso is on the move this summer after failing to secure enough playing time in Scotland.

He is not favoring a move back to parent club Rubin Karzan who are willing to cash in on him if his buyout clause is met.

A host of clubs including former side Espanyol have all been linked with a move for the 25 year old midfielder who can play out wide.

But sources close to the player say it’s Monaco who are favorite to land him.

“Wakaso has been to France a couple of times and he has personally visited the city Monaco and from all that he is saying he likes the place,” a source close to the player told GHANAsoccernet.com

“A lot of interest has been generated but he is looking at the options that will give him game time and once that is sorted I am sure a decision would be reaches.”

Wakaso was a member of the Ghana squad which finished second in the just ended Africa cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea.
