Despite reaching the final of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana midfielder Christian Atsu is not a celebrating mood.

Atsu was named Orange Man of the Match as the Black Stars eased past hosts Equatorial Guinea in their semi-final meeting on Thursday night in Malabo to set up a final clash with old foes, Cote d’Ivoire.

First half goals from Jordan Ayew and Mubarak Wakaso put the four-time winners on the path on victory before Andre Ayew put the icing on the cake by finishing off a Kwesi Appiah assist in the second half.

“We worked harder than them (Equatorial Guinea). They were very physical but we told each other we had to concentrate on the game.

“We were talking to each other and just wanted to win the game. This is not the time to celebrate. We have to focus on the next game,” said the 23-year old, also in reckoning for the Most Valuable Player of the tournament prize.

On the clash against Cote d’Ivoire, the Everton winger said:”they are the favourites and have a strong team. We are going there to celebrate,” noted Atsu, who was only 16-days old when Ghana lost out to the Ivorians in the 1992 final.

The midfielder was a member of the Ghana squad that finished fourth at the 2013 edition in South Africa.
