In-form Bechem United midfielder Noah Martey insists he harbours no hard feelings after he was shockingly snubbed in the 24-man Ghana U20 squad.

The provisional squad named by coach Sellas Tetteh have already traveled to Turkey to finalize their preparations for next month’s African Youth Championships in Senegal.

The squad will be further pruned down to a 21-man squad.

Martey was however surprisingly left out of the provisional squad despite his hot form in the Ghanaian top flight.

The 19-year-old has scored in five consecutive games – two following his snub – to take his season’s tally to six from a defensive midfield position.

His omission came as a massive surprise to many as he is considered as one of the leading performers in Ghana’s local league.

But the Bechem United player remains calm in the firm belief that there are better days ahead.

“I’m not worried at all because I know my time will definitely come,” he told Joy FM.

“Although I am doing well and I would have loved to be part of the team I just have to take it cool and pray because I know if one door closes another opens.”

Martey went on to wish the team will by saying: “I wish the team all the best and I know equally good players were selected to do well at the tournament.”
