The delegation of the Flying Eagles comprising eighteen players and eleven officials led by coach Emmanuel Amuneke touched down at the Burundi International Airport at exactly 1.02pm Nigeria time on Thursday.

On arrival, the team was received by officials of the Nigeria embassy in Burundi led by the second secretary Chrisanthus Micheal and counselor officer Chukwueze Dennis.

Also there to welcome the delegation were officials of the Burundi Football Association. The delegation drove straight from the airport in a convoy to the beautiful five-star Sunsafari Club Hotel in the heart of Burundi where both players and officials are lodged ahead of Saturday Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier.

The delegation left the Nnamdi Azikwe international airport at about 1pm on Tuesday for Burundi. There they met with NFF executive committee member Babagana Kali who is the leader of delegation.

NFF General Secretary Sanusi Mohammed and chief operating officer of the League Management Company, Salihu Abubakar, were on a separate mission to Ethiopia where they are billed to attend a special seminar but they took time to address the team before departure.

It was during the brief session that team coach Emmanuel Amuneke and team captain Kelechi Nwakali promised to do the nation proud with a good performance in Burundi.
