Nigeria’s U20 women’s team head coach, Peter Dedevbo has handed Flamingoes’ duo Rasheedat Ajibade and Catherine Kenneth invitations to the side ahead of the Fifa Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

The duo participated in the side's futile campaign at the Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.

Ajibade, who made her second appearances at the world cadet championship, plays for FC Robo while Kenneth, a central defender with Rivers Angels, have already joined the rest of other invited Falconets players at their Abuja camp.

Dedevbo said he decided to extend his drag net to the duo because he was impressed with their output in the Nigeria’s U17 women team in Jordan.

“I watched Rasheedat and Catherine during their tournament and I liked the way they played.

“I think they did very well despite the Flamingoes’ early exit at the World Cup. I intend to take a closer look at them during training sessions because I believe that they can fit into my plans for the World Cup,” said Dedevbo to thenff.com.

The nation’s representatives are in Group B together with Spain, Canada and Japan for the World Cup showpiece in Papua New Guinea from November 13 – December 3.

Falconets are due to kick-start their title campaign on Sunday, November 13, against Asian giants Japan at the Bava Park Port, Moresby.
