Fikayo Tomori’s AC Milan future in doubt as Premier League clubs circle
Fikayo Tomori could leave AC Milan during the January transfer window, with several Premier League clubs monitoring the England international of Nigerian descent.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham, Newcastle United and Tomori’s former club Chelsea are among those considering a move for the 28-year-old centre-back as they look to strengthen their defences. Manchester United, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Fulham are also reported to have made enquiries about his situation.
AC Milan are said to be open to a departure in January. TEAMtalk reports that Tomori’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning the Italian club could favour a winter sale rather than risk losing him without a fee a few months later. Intermediaries are already understood to be working on identifying possible destinations for the defender.
The level of interest reflects Tomori’s experience in English football. He came through Chelsea’s academy but struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Stamford Bridge before moving to AC Milan.
Tomori has since played a significant part in the Italian club’s recent history, including their Serie A title success in 2022. A return to England now appears possible, with the player reportedly open to the idea.
It remains to be seen which club will make a formal approach in January and what financial terms AC Milan would demand. The source also states that Tomori is under contract with the Italian side until June 2027, while Transfermarkt values him at 10 million euros.
AC Milan are due to face Udinese in their eighth league match of the Italian championship.
