A late penalty gave Ghana a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Austria in their opening 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup Group B match on Saturday night in Wellington.

Manchester City recruit Yaw Yeboah won and converted a penalty on the 90th minute to give the former world champions a crucial point.

Yeboah weaved his way from the right flank and entered the box before Konrad Liamer felled him.

Referee Fahad Al Mirdasi did not hesitate to point to the spot and Yeboah put it away expertly.

Bernd Gschweidl’s strike on 50 minutes separated the two sides at the Wellington Regional Stadium.

He burst into the box after using his strength to bully centre-back Emmanuel Ntim, who plays for French Ligue 2 side Valenciennes.

Gschweidl’s first attempt at goal was blocked by goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi but curled the rebound into net with Ntim blocking Ati’s view.

The Black Satellites went into the break dominating play but lacking the cutting edge to score first.

Austria on rare occasions threatened and had to wait until after the break to punish the Satellites who looked second best.

Goalkeeper Ati-Zigi had to save Ghana on few occasions with some superb stops.

Ghana’s next game will be against Argentina, who drew 2-2 with Panama in the Group opener, on Tuesday.

individualistic players. isn't someone going to tell them that if they don't reach, at least, the quarter finals, they won't be looked upon by scouts. no body likes a show-boater.
