Feyenoord Rotterdam star Elvis Manu has revealed he could make his debut for Ghana in September as he looks set to be declared eligible for the Black Stars by FIFA.

The 21-year-old was in Accra in mid-June to spend holidays in the country of his parents and Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi and Black Stars head coach Avram Grant.

Manu, who has featured for the Netherlands at various youth levels, has applied to FIFA for a nationality switch to enable him play for Ghana.

"We’ll see. We are now working with the papers and things are ahead. If everything goes on, then I could play my first game for Ghana on September 4, 2015 against Rwanda in the African Cup qualifiers," Manu told RTV.

The powerful attacker who netted 10 times in all competitions for Feyenoord last season explained why he chose the West African giants ahead of an international career with the Oranje and says his decision is irreversible.

"The choice to play for Ghana was not difficult for me though I was born and raised here(Netherlands) and have been here all my life.

Netherlands is my home but sometimes you have to make choices and I think Ghana is the best for me. This decision can not be turned, I am one hundred percent behind it."

Ghana coach Avram Grant will include Manu in his squad to face Rwanda in September by which time he would have been cleared by FIFA.
