Fenerbahce has denied reports claiming they have approached Nigeria striker, Anthony Nwakaeme for a possible move to the club, Nigeriasoccernet can report.

"Our club during the transfer has not attempted to or made any contact with Anthony Nwakaeme, neither in the past nor in the current transfer period.

"However, when the manager of the football player contacted us, our club stated that we are not interested in the player. We present this fact to the public's information."

Nwakaeme, 33, scored 13 goals in the just concluded Super Lig season and was consistent for Trabzonspor in the last four years, scoring 47 goals and made 45 assists in 145 matches for the team, and helping them win the Turkish league for the first time in 38 years.

Following his release from Trabzonspor at the end of last season, many reports were published regarding his next destination with the majority of them claiming Fenerbahce were already in talks with the player and his agent.
