FC Ifeanyi Ubah tried to snatch goalkeeper Fatau Dauda from Enyimba FC by offering him an irresistible offer.

A top Enyimba official revealed big-spending Ifeanyi Ubah approached the highly-rated goalkeeper with a double offer at the airport, but Dauda rejected it.

''Ifeanyi Ubah promised to double whatever Enyimba gave Dauda, but the goalkeeper insisted that he has given his word to join Enyimba and also Enyimba are a bigger brand than Ifeanyi Ubah,” disclosed the official.

Dauda, former Ghana No.1, signed a two-year contract with the Aba Warriors on Friday.

He said: ''The only club I want to play for in Nigeria is Enyimba.

“I am a longtime admirer of the club because of their rich history and professionalism.''
