Sanliurfaspor Join Kalmar In Race For Free Agent Arokoyo
Turkish First League club ?anl?urfaspor are hopeful of wrapping up the signing of Gbenga Arokoyo in the coming days.
?anl?urfaspor are targeting promotion to the Super Lig in the new season and have embarked on a massive recruitment drive, with the Nigeria international defender at the top of their wishlist.
The south-eastern Turkish club will operate on a shoestring budget in the 2016-2017 campaign and have offered Gbenga Arokoyo 180,000 euros per season (equivalent of N67.5 million) as wages.
In his first season in Turkey, the central defender pocketed€10,000 every month and Gaziantepspor provided him with a flat.
The free agent is not putting all his eggs in one basket and was in contact with the sporting director of Kalmar,Thomas Andersson-Borstam, regarding a transfer two days ago.
Arokoyo and Thomas go back a long way as the Swede was once the sporting director of his first club in Europe, Mjällby AIF.
