Highly-rated Ghana midfielder Uriah Asante will sign for an unnamed Asian club in the coming days, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 22-year-old talented playmaker is on the verge of concluding negotiations and will put pen-to-paper on a long-term deal latest next week, sources close to the player have told Ghana’s leading football portal, GHANAsoccernet.com.

The hugely improved ex-Hearts playmaker is a free agent after ending his contract with Tunisian outfit EGS Gafsa.

The former Black Meteors intelligent enforcer spent two years in Tunisia in which he played for giants Etoile Du Sahel before being loaned to Romanian side Astra Giurgui.

“Uriah is currently on holidays after an exciting season abroad. I can tell you that he will sign for an unnamed Asian club soon,” a source close to the player told GHANAsoccernet.com

“There are many offers on the table for him but he has decided on the Asian one. He is looking forward to signing the contract.”

Asante burst to the Ghanaian scene after a fabulous presence in the Hearts set-up in which he showed tremendous technical ability.

His combination of dribbling skill and speed makes him a serious threat when running at defenders.

With his quick change of pace and ball control, Asante can evade markers and beat defenders in one-on-one situations.

In addition to his accomplished dribbling ability, the Ghana international has a great range of passing and football intelligence. He has the creativity and vision of a top-quality attacking midfielder. He can create opportunities off the dribble or split the defense with a killer pass.
