Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has been shockingly recalled by crisis-hit AC Milan for tonight's Serie A match against Genoa, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Muntari has been named in the struggling Rossoneri 23-man squad to face Genoa tonight, insiders have told Ghana's leading football news outfit, GHANAsoccernet.com.

The shock inclusion of the controversial Ghana star comes just two weeks after returning home which sparked talk that he has all but ended his stay with the Italian giants.

However, Muntari is called up for the first time since deciding in conjunction with the club not to take part in games because his contract would not be renewed.

The Ghana international did say he was prepared to be included if there was an emergency situation in midfield.

Injuries and the poor form of the club looks to have forced the club's coach Pippo Inzaghi to eat large and copious amounts of humble pie to recall the Ghanaian who he thinks can help arrest the slump.

Inzaghi has practically lost hope of European qualification after a 2-1 defeat to Udinese on Saturday.

The coach is also missing key players Suso, Luca Antonelli and Gabriel Paletta through injuries forcing Muntari to make his triumphant return.

Muntari is back in the squad after Pippo reportedly told the other players they did not deserve to wear the shirts following the defeat to Udinese which forced him to take the players on a retreat.

According to Leggo some players didn't take too well being in retreat. Some contemplating doing a Muntari and refuse to play.

Inzaghi says his side must ‘make up for a bad game against Udinese’ when they meet Genoa.

“The best answer we can give is on the field,” Inzaghi said in an interview with Milan Channel.

“We have to make up for a bad game against Udinese. Tomorrow we have the opportunity to do so at San Siro.

“Every player must give a little more, I’m angry because the team didn’t give everything in Udine. As long as there’s hope we’ll play until the end."

An excellent game for Muntari could spark possible talk of him staying at the club beyond this season as his contract ewxpires in June 2016.
