Ghana midfield revelation Afriyie Acquah has signed for Italian side A side Sampdoria on transfer deadline day, Ghana’s leading football news outlet GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 22-year-old penned the deal in Malabo where the Black Stars are preparing for Thursday’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against hosts Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana’s leading football website, www.GHANASoccernet.com had confirmed the player’s agent Oliver Arthur was in Malabo to conclude the deal with the impressive midfielder.

Acquah, owned by German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenhiem, has been on a season-long loan at Parma.

The 22-year-old has had a decent campaign at the Nations Cup after starting in Ghana’s last three matches to reach the semi-final.

He has been very formidable in the middle and played a huge role in the revival of the Black Stars after an opening day defeat to Senegal.

Acquah made 12 Serie A appearances before the winter break.
