Ghana will be without influential Augsburg FC defender Baba Abdul Rahman for the double-header friendly internationals against Senegal and Mali due to a broke toe, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 20-year-old full-back suffered the broken toe while in action for Augsburg in the German Bundesliga on Saturday against Freiburg, a game they lost 2-0.

Though the former Dreams FC and Asante Kotoko defender was able to play full throttle, scans on Sunday morning have revealed the defender suffered a broken toe and expected to spent up to six weeks in the treatment room.

His absence will mean Leicester City wing-half Jeffrey Schlup will have the chance to impress Black Stars boss Avram Grant and seal his place in the squad.

While Ghana will be unhappy with the unavailability of the defender who was a massive hit at the 2015 AFCON, Augsburg will suffer the most as they have to do without their most talked about player for a stipulated four games in all competitions.

Baba has started 22 games for them this season and assisted three goals from defence.
