Former Berekum Chelsea coach Tony Lokko claims he came 'within an inch' of signing for Hearts of Oak.

The experienced trainer was on the radar of the former African champions for a number of weeks before they opted for Herbert Addo.

Lokko, who has been linked with a move to Kotoko as a potential David Duncan assistant, says he missed the Hearts job by a whisker.

“I nearly signed for Hearts. We came very close,” he revealed.

“I needed someone to sign as a witness and time passed so quickly so they decided to move on.

“But the club really wanted me to join them. But at the moment I’m focused on the other offers on the table.”

He is highly regarded in the West African country after guiding Amidaus Professionals to the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago.
