Former Barcelona star Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been confirmed as Feyenoord's new manager, starting in the summer, meaning Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu will work under him.

The 40-year-old former Rangers and Arsenal player is currently assistant to Fred Rutten, who will leave the Dutch club at the end of the season.

He will sign a two-year contract as Feyenoord manager.

Rutten inspired Manu's career at Feyenoord and speculations in the Netherlands claim Manu will be leaving for either PSV Eindhoven or Ajax Amsterdam.

But he has rejected the reports saying he will remain at the club for a foreseeable future.

van Bronckhorst, who won 106 caps for Netherlands, was assistant to Ronald Koeman for two years before his appointment at Southampton last summer.

He retired from a playing career that also took in Feyenoord and Barcelona after the 2010 World Cup final, which Netherlands lost to Spain.

Manu will not be new to van Bronckhorst at the club as he has been assistant to Rutten since he returned from loan from Cambuur.
