Ethan Nwaneri’s Borussia Dortmund loan includes an Arsenal return route

Arsenal can bring Ethan Nwaneri back from Borussia Dortmund in January, should Mikel Arteta need reinforcements because of injuries or decide the midfielder’s form merits a return to the Premier League champions.

Nwaneri, 19, joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the 2026-27 season after finding his opportunities limited under Arteta. That appearance raised expectations that Nwaneri could become a regular member of Arsenal’s senior side.
