Portuguese Primera Liga side Estrella are keen to sign Nigerian defender Benjamin Tanimu, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The club's initial bid of $320,000 was rejected by Tanimu's current team, Tanzanian outfit Ihefu FC, who are holding out for a higher offer.

Estrella are expected to return with an improved bid before the transfer window closes, as they aim to secure the services of the 22-year-old centre-back.

Tanimu, who joined Ihefu FC from Nigerian side Bendel Insurance last year, has already made his mark on the international stage, earning three caps for Nigeria, including a debut against Ghana in March.
