Ghanaian international winger Ernest Asante marked his return from a slight injury lay-off with a goal for Stabaek in their 3-1 thrashing of Senja to reach the fourth round of the Norwegian Cup.

The 26-year-old former Manchester United triallist climbed off Bob Bradley's bench in the 75th minute to replace Norwegian forward Diomande and got his name firmly recorded on the scoreboard at the Islandsbotn Kunstgress.

Asante latched on to a pass from midfielder Gorozia and finished off with an admirable calmness in front goal.

Kamal Issah, Asante's Ghanaian compatriot, started the game for Stabaek and finished the entire duration of the tie.

The goal marks Asante's sixth in 13 games in all competitions for Stabaek this season since he joined from IK Start at the start of the season.
