Despite plans to sign more players by Nottingham Forest , there are strong indications that Taiwo Awoniyi would be the marksman for the Steve Cook-tutored side when they start their campaign in the English Premier League (EPL) opener against Newcastle on August 6.

Already, Nottingham are planning plenty more signings with Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson in on loan, along with Giulian Biancone and Awoniyi who was recently signed from Union Berlin.

The Reds are also understood to be in talks with Mainz over a deal to sign Moussa Niakhate and have interest in more players, including Neco Williams and Issa Kabore.

However, all eyes will be on the Nigeria international who scored 15 goals for Union Berlin in the Bundesliga last season.

Awoniyi who is still Nottingham’s record £17.5m signing will spearhead the attacking line for Coach Cook alongside some home-grown players.

Joe Worrall, who is a home-grown talent is likely to captain his boyhood club in the Premier League lining up on the right of back three once again.

Forest have now signed a competition for the former England Under-21 international in Biancone after his move from Troyes. The fact Biancone does not walk into the team can only be a positive given the depth Forest will need in their squad.
