Chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League giants, Enyimba FC, Kanu Nwankwo has expressed delight over the club's partnership with HamKam FC of Norway, stating the benefits of the partnership, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The contingents from Norway consist head of Transfers and Sporting Director Jorgen Bjorn, Team Manager Chris Twiddy and FIFA licensed Agent With Hamkam FC Tuncay Leon Bardakci.

They arrived Nigeria last week to commence a 7 day Development Programme for the youth teams of the 9-time champions of the NPFL.

Kanu spoke on Monday, the 4th day of the programme stating that the initiative as turned out well as the benefits that comes with the programme will be for both parties.

“It’s been a good one as you can see the coaches are already inside the pitch not just training the players, also the coaches are gaining from the exercise.

"The programme will among many other things give the players the confidence as well as motivate them to do more. They will also know what football is all about, discipline, working hard and how to be aggressive during attack and defensive play.

“They have lots of respect for our coaches likewise our coaches for them and our coaches understand the importance of the kind of programme as they may not have the opportunity to attend such courses, so we are more like exchanging tactical programmes.

Kanu stated that his intention to ensure sustainability of the club's future with programmes like this for youth teams.

“On sustainability, recall that when we came on board I talked about building a real football structure in Enyimba and after some months we already have the real U15’s, U-17’s and U-19’s in place and with such programmes it would help us to develope their talents and progress them to the main team as well as ship them abroad.

“Enyimba is one of the top teams in Africa and the biggest in Nigeria. They know how big we are and what we have and that’s why they accepted to come and so far they are happy to partner more with us, so it will be a continuous thing.

Besides the training programme, the team from Norway will watch the main team during a seven day programme and at the end the exceptional talents will join the team in Norway for the continuation of their development
