Emery lands Tierney deal
Arsenal have signed Scotland left-back Kieran Tierney for £25m from Celtic and are set to bring in defender David Luiz from Chelsea for £8m on a two-year contract.
The Gunners had been linked with Tierney all summer and the 22-year-old's move was finally confirmed on deadline day.
Brazil centre-back Luiz, who signed a new two-year Chelsea deal in May, will have a medical at Arsenal on Thursday and the deal is still expected to be confirmed.
"We're delighted Kieran is joining us. He's a very talented player who will continue to improve," said Gunners boss Unai Emery.
"He increases our options defensively and I look forward to him joining our group."
Tierney, who has signed a long-term deal and will wear the number three shirt at Arsenal, described the move as a "great opportunity" at a "massive club", despite admitting he was torn at leaving his boyhood heroes in Glasgow.
"When I was younger, the ambition was Celtic and that was my dream," he said. "But when you get older…I've done that, I've made my dream, I've lived my dream and I've loved every single minute of it.
"Now I just feel was the right time to take a step on.
"It's a hard decision to leave a club that you love so much. People need to know that."
Arsenal are 50/1 to win the Premier League title this season, 5/4 to finish in the top four and 25/1 to be top at Christmas.
