Emery eager to get Pepe deal done
Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he is determined to get the deal over the line for Lille striker Nicolas Pepe ahead of the Premier League season.
After months of being linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 outfit, it looks like the Gunners are going to win the race for the forward.
Manchester United and Napoli were thought to be in the running but Pepe is on the verge of making the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Emery knows there is work to do on the deal but is hopeful it can be wrapped up shortly.
"We are working and also thinking about how we can improve," Emery said. "There are different players on the table with the possibility that we can achieve their signature.
"Pepe is a very good player and we are thinking only of players who can really, really improve this squad and also give us some different conditions to improve.
"We are working for the last few weeks and before starting the season in the first match in Newcastle. Our aim is to get the best team with the best players in our squad."
Arsenal are 6/4 to finish in the top four this season.
