Elche and Celta held to goalless draw in Spanish top flight

Elche and Celta were unable to find a winner in their eighth-round Spanish championship match on Sunday, 11 October, as the game ended 0-0.

Neither side made the most of its chances in a match lacking attacking quality, with both teams failing to break the deadlock.

The point gives Elche six points from eight matches and leaves them 17th in the table as they continue their fight to stay in the top division.

Celta had been hoping to claim all three points, but the draw leaves them with eight points and ninth place.
