Aliyu Zubairu, head coach of El-Kanemi Warriors, has praised the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board for its financial incentives and synchronized schedule aligning with other leagues, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

However, Zubairu urged football authorities to upgrade stadium facilities in the country, expressing concern that only one stadium currently meets CAF's standards for Champions League fixtures.

El-Kanemi Warriors will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, facing Benin's Dadje FC in the preliminary round.

“It is disconcerting that only a solitary stadium meets CAF’s standards for Champions League fixtures,” Zubairu said via Daily Post.

“This serves as a poignant indication of underlying issues that we must address.”

Zubaru took charge of the Bauchi Elephant a year ago in the Nigeria National League after the resignation of former coach, Hamza Abdul'azeez Abara. He guided the team to promotion and also offered the club opportunity to play on the continent by wining the President Federation Cup.
