El-Kanemi Warriors reach CAF Confederation Cup second round despite defeat

El-Kanemi Warriors secured their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup despite losing 1-0 to UDIB of Guinea-Bissau in the second leg of their tie in Bissau on Sunday night.

The Maiduguri-based side advanced 3-1 on aggregate, having built a decisive advantage with a 3-0 victory in the first leg at home.

Their reward is a difficult two-legged meeting with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, who await in the next round of the competition.

The first leg will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne between October 16 and 18.

Raja Casablanca will host the return match in Casablanca between October 23 and 25.

The team that prevails across the two matches will qualify for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
