Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong made his comeback to the pitch after a seven-month absence, playing in PAOK Salonica's friendly match against AEK Larnaca, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Double-headed-eagles in the friendly  secured a 2-1 victory in the game.

Troost-Ekong had been sidelined due to an injury sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire, which required surgical intervention.

Although he resumed training towards the end of the previous season, his fitness level was not deemed sufficient for him to participate in matches.

His return is of good news to the senior national team that have struggled defensively in his absence.
