Ekhator Opens Up on Identity, Says He Feels “More Nigerian” Despite Italian Upbringing

Jeff Ekhator has revealed that he feels a stronger connection to his Nigerian roots despite being born and raised in Genoa, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Genoa C.F.C. striker, who has represented Italy at youth level, was born to Nigerian parents and developed his football career entirely in the European nation.
Speaking in an interview with Vivo Azzurro TV, the young forward highlighted the cultural influence of his family background.
“I am Nigerian from both parents and they speak to me both in Italian and in Nigerian,” Ekhator said.
