Edo Queens have emerged champions of the Edo State Women FA Cup after pummeling Fortress Ladies in the final of the tournament on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The defending champions walloped their opponents eight goals to nil at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium as to retain the prestigious Cup.

They remain continuous champions of the tournament after winning all the previous finals since its inception.

Bashiru Kafayat opened scoring for Edo Queens in the 13th minute of play. Yemisi Samuel scored a hattrick in the 17th, 22nd and 40the minutes before Kafayat Bashiru scored her second to make it 5-0 before half time.

Alice Ogebe increased the tally for Edo Queens in the 47th minutes while Sulehat Aberdeen two in the 68th and 77th minutes to complete the routes.

The two teams will be representing Edo state at the National level of the Federation cup.
