The Nigeria Football Federation are making efforts to camp the U-23 Eagles in Morocco and Gambia for the team’s final phase of preparations for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal, Complete Sports reports.

Barring any last minutes hitches, the coach Samson Siasia-led side will camp in Casablanca and Banjul in a bid to knock the team into top shape for the tournament.

Sources in Abuja revealed to Complete Sports that a series of top-grade friendly matches have been lined up for the team in Morocco. The team will then proceed to Banjul, the capital of Gambia, where friendly matches have been arranged with the Gambia junior national side.

The choice of Morocco and Gambia stems from similar weather condition both countries share with Senegal at that time of the year.

More importantly, it is believed among NFF officials that the closeness of Morocco, Gambia and Senegal will foster easy movement for the team.

“I can confirm to you that U-23s will be camped in Casablanca and Banjul ahead of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Senegal,” the Abuja source said.

“As you can see, Senegal is just a stone’s throw from Gambia, this will allow the team travel to the venue of the competition easily.” The tournament will commence on November 28 and run till December 12.
