Don't Use Friendlies To Judge Salisu - Dosu
Former Super Eagles goal keeper, Dosu Joseph says the forthcoming international friendly against Mali should not be the bench mark to assess coach Salisu Yusuf and his coaching crew. The Super Eagles are billed to lock horns with the Les Aiglons of Mali on May 27 in Rouen, France before engaging the national team of Luxembourg on Wednesday June 1, 2016. Giving an insight into his expectations on the international cracker , Dosu stated that a victory against Mali in France would be a good start for the Eagles under Yusuf’s tutelage but was quick to point out that it would be foolhardy to judge the coach by the outcome. According to the Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medalist, the result if favorable, will not reflect the true strength and character of the team. “Victory in the first game is important because it is going to be a very good start for the team, however it is going to take some time for the players to blend. “By the time Eagles play the second game against Luxembourg, we can now begin to look at the departments and decide which change that should be effected . Meanwhile a fortnight to the friendly in Rouen, the Embassy of France in Nigeria, had denied some of the Nigerian team entry visa into France. According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) protocol department, 60 percent of the passports taken to the embassy on April 29, 2016, were returned without visas.
