Done Deal: Emmanuel Dennis moves to Blackburn Rovers FC
Emmanuel Dennis has finally put an end to his misery at Nottingham Forest after completing a deadline-day transfer to Blackburn Rovers FC on loan until the end of the season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Dennis now joins Rovers, becoming their sixth signing of the January transfer window, to rediscover his prolific goal-scoring form. The transfer is contingent upon approval from the relevant football authorities.
Dennis brings a wealth of experience, including Europa League appearances against prominent clubs like Feyenoord, Fenerbahce, and Manchester United during his time with Zorya Luhansk. He contributed five league goals to Zorya's third-place finish in the 2016-17 Ukrainian Premier League season.
In 2017, Dennis transferred to Club Brugge, where he made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut. He went on to score 19 goals in 85 league appearances for the Belgian club. After a loan spell with FC Koln in Germany, he moved to England, signing with Watford in June 2021. He continued his scoring streak, netting 10 Premier League goals in 30 starts for the Hornets, including a debut goal in a 3-2 win against Aston Villa.
His impressive performances at Watford earned him a £20m transfer to Nottingham Forest in August 2022. He continued to feature regularly in the Premier League, scoring against both Aston Villa and Newcastle United. Subsequent loan spells with Istanbul Basaksehir and a return to Watford followed for the Nigerian international, who has earned eight caps for his country.
