Doku says Manchester City role remains unchanged under Maresca

Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku says new manager Enzo Maresca is asking him to do the same things as former boss Pep Guardiola.

Maresca took charge of Manchester City last summer, replacing Guardiola as manager.

Doku said the change in leadership had not altered the expectations placed on him, telling reporters: “Maresca asks me to do the same as Guardiola.”

The Belgium international has played six matches for Manchester City in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Manchester City have made a strong start to the Premier League campaign and sit top of the table after eight matches. They have collected 21 points so far.

Doku remains part of a Manchester City side adapting to Maresca’s management following Guardiola’s departure. His comments suggest the winger’s responsibilities within the team have stayed consistent despite the change in the dugout.
