The chief medical director at the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital this afternoon ruled that six Heartland FC players who were badly injured when the team had a motor accident yesterday, are unfit to play any match for now.

This followed an analysis of the ex-ray report on five of the players as well as physical examination this morning on the sixth player, Ebele Obi whose case appear to be worse than the other.

The five players are Chinedu Efugh, Macmarcel Obioha, Kingsley Ajaero, Owusu Antonin And Chidiebere Ajoku, all first team players.

At the pre-match meeting which ended by 12.33PM today, Heartland  protested the failure of the match commissioner, Aminu Jaafar from Kano State to take cognizance of the medical issue surrounding the players state of health and ordering that the match should go on at all cost.

By this time, neither ex-ray report, doctor’s report nor the players who went for examination at the hospital was available and back from hospital.

The match commissioner also refused to guarantee on the players’ lives if they should go ahead and play. This made heartland to refuse to sign the pre-match form.
