Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will be out of action for several weeks after sustaining a lesion to the femoral bicep, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

The Nigerian midfielder sustained the injury to his right leg during Sunday's league clash with AS Roma.

The 24-year-old was forced off early in the game and has since started his rehabilitation process.

Dele-Bashiru's absence is likely to be felt by Lazio in the coming weeks, having made four league appearances for the club this season.

The injury also puts his availability for Nigeria's upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic next month in doubt.

The Biancocelesti confirmed the extent of Dele-Bashiru's injury, stating that he will be sidelined for a number of weeks.
