David Moyes says Everton contract talks have slowed amid takeover review

Everton manager David Moyes says negotiations over a new contract have slowed after the club’s owners announced they were considering the sale of a controlling stake.

Moyes returned to Everton in January 2025 and guided the club to safety from relegation. Everton finished 13th in the previous Premier League season.

The club have made an unbeaten start to the current campaign, taking six matches without defeat. They are fifth in the Premier League ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Chelsea.
