D'AVERSA: “THE GUYS DESERVE TO BE WHERE THEY ARE
Parma's coach Roberto D’Aversa attended his post-match press conference after the 0-1 win over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
“I see these guys work every day and I’ve done so since the first day of pre-season and despite losing some important players at this time like we did late last season, the group has become even closer through difficulties and losing players. I think the team deserves to be where it is in the table thanks to the work that the guys are doing every day. Tonight, we put in a big performance, in the first hour above all when we could keep Kucka and Cornelius on. In the last 30 minutes, we dropped off a bit but we did very well to bring home all the points and only Inter and Lazio have done that at Marassi. These means that we’ve done something big but the one constant is that these guys stick together when there are difficulties and I hope that they can keep it up."
On Saturday 14 December Parma will play against Napoli in matchday 16 of the Serie A TIM 2019/2020: “I’m calm because I know what group I have available to me. The group always stays balanced and works every day no matter if the results are positive or negative and that’s how it should be. Of course, we’re going to Napoli to play a strong side who are going through a difficult moment and on Tuesday they’ll be playing to stay in the Champions League so we know their true value. What we’ve done all season is play our opponents with maximum respect while looking to cause problems for them."
