Dani Carvajal joins Getafe after 13-year Real Madrid spell
Former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal has signed for Getafe, with the transfer now officially confirmed after approval from La Liga.
The 34-year-old defender completed an employment contract with Getafe on Tuesday, according to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The move has been completed on a free transfer.
Carvajal left Real Madrid after the conclusion of last season, bringing an end to a spell with the Spanish club that began in 2013. He remained there until 2026 and also served as captain during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
His move to Getafe gives him the opportunity to continue his career in Spain after departing Real Madrid. The agreement was approved by the La Liga authorities before the transfer was formally confirmed.
Getafe are currently 14th in the Spanish league table after eight rounds. They have eight points from those matches.
