Blue Ocean FC of Nigeria defeated Imas-Jerv 4-0 in their first game of the Dana Cup in Hjorring, Denmark.

Two goals from Samuel Abisuga, while Arinze Iroka and Razak Afeez both got one goal each in both halves to secure a resounding start to the summer competition for the Abuja-based.

The Team’s head coach, Bunmi Haruna says despite the win, they learned a lot from their opponent.

"Forget the scoreline, it was a keenly contested game.

"We learned a lot from them because they are a different team from the teams we usually play.

"They have their game plans which were heavily crafted around set pieces.

"They had three good chances from set pieces and it could have easily been 4-3, but our goalkeeper saved the day.

"We could have also scored more, because we controlled the game and had more possession.

We are happy with the win and we will go prepare for our next game," the two-time assistant coach of the Nigeria National U-17 team, said after the game.

Blue Ocean FC will play two games in one day in their next fixtures. They will face Skaun BK of Norway, and Ahrensburger TSV of Germany both on the 24th, of July 2024.
