Cyril Dessers: "We're the best in the league"
Nigeria's Super Eagles forward Cyril Dessers has boldly declared Rangers as the premier force in the league after propelling the team into the final of the Scottish Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Dessers' brace secured a commanding 2-0 victory over Hearts in the semi-final clash on Sunday, further intensifying Rangers' pursuit of both cup and league glory, with rivals Celtic firmly in their sights.
Speaking after the match, Dessers expressed confidence in Rangers' abilities, stating, "If you look at the last few months we've shown what we're capable of and I think it's just trying to get the vibe back. If we can find that rhythm back then I think we're the best team in the league and hopefully, we can show that in the next games."
Emphasizing the collective effort required for success, Dessers highlighted the importance of unity among players, staff, and supporters, asserting, "It's not only us 11 or 15 players on the pitch, it will be with everybody together. Players, staff, fans, everybody in and around the club, and I think altogether we can do this."
Looking ahead to the remaining fixtures, Dessers adopted a determined stance, viewing each game as a fresh opportunity to assert Rangers' dominance, remarking, "We have six more games and everything to play for. I think we have to (think of it as) a new league starting next weekend."
Confident in the team's ability to seize the league title, Dessers concluded, "We know what we have to do to go and win the title and I think we've got everything to do that as well. Hopefully, we can execute that on the pitch."
