Hertha Berlin are delighted to have been able to extend the loan stay of Serbia international midfielder Marko Grujic until the end of next season.

The 23-year-old was hugely impressive for Hertha last season, having headed to the Bundesliga on loan from Liverpool, scoring five goals in 22 league appearances for Die Alte Dame.

As he is still young, I believe that he can still develop a lot.

And Grujic will remain at Hertha for next season, with new head coach Ante Covic very pleased to have kept hold of such an important part of his plans.

He told the club's official website: "We are delighted that Marko is staying here for another year. He was excellent in the centre of midfield last season.

"As he is still young, I believe that he can still develop a lot and Hertha BSC is the right club to do that at."

The Berliners, who finished in 11th place in the Bundesliga last season, have also been boosted by the news that Slovakia schemer Ondrej Duda has signed a contract extension to ensure that he stays put with Hertha.

The 24-year-old moved to Germany in the summer of 2016 from Legia Warsaw and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2019/20, netting 11 goals in 32 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha.

However, Valentino Lazaro has left the club to join Inter Milan, with the Austria international forward having spent two seasons in Berlin before making the move to Italy.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are 1/4 to win the Bundesliga title again next season, with Borussia Dortmund 9/2.
